Your seats are held, not bought
Choosing a quantity puts those tickets aside for you while you check out, so nobody buys them out from under you mid-payment. The hold has a time limit shown on the page.
A hold is not a purchase. If you leave checkout unfinished, the tickets go back on sale when the hold expires — even if you had already opened the payment page.
Paying
Most of the time you pay without leaving the page. Sometimes you are sent to your bank's own secure page and brought straight back.
What you can pay with depends on the country the event is in. Cards work everywhere. In Nigeria you can also pay by bank transfer or USSD. Across most of the rest of Africa you can pay by mobile money.
Your card details go straight to the company handling the payment. They never reach Tiqstar, and we never store them.
What you are charged
Checkout lists every part of the total — the ticket price, any fees the creator is passing on, and any discount from a promo code. What you see is exactly what leaves your account. There is no currency conversion: an event is priced in its own country's money.
After you pay
Your ticket is made the moment the payment goes through. It appears in your wallet, and we email you a copy. If the email has not turned up, check your wallet first — the wallet is the real ticket, and emails are the thing most likely to be slow or land in spam.
If a payment fails or is interrupted, nothing is issued and nothing is charged. Start again rather than paying twice; if you think you have been charged for a failed order, contact us with the order number.
Promo codes
Enter a code at checkout and the discount is applied before payment, so you can see what it did. Codes are set by the creator and can be limited by quantity, by date, or to particular ticket types.
